AJ and Steve, when you call the Ranger Station, you may want to inquire
specifically about this....
/Additional Restrictions go into effect June 9, 2004 at 9:00 a.m./
1. /Operating a chainsaw or other equipment powered by an internal
combustion engine is prohibited from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m./
2. /Welding, or operating an acetylene or other torch with open flame
is prohibited./
3. /Possessing or using a motor vehicle off Forest roads is
prohibited from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., except when parking in
designated areas, trailheads, or existing dispersed campsites./
While I doubt any of us will be playing with chainsaws or torches during
this outing, #3 has me a bit worried. If Steve was upset by the $125
fine at KOFA, he's REALLY not gonna like the up to $5000 hit this'll
cost. Just wanted to point this out. I may call in the morning, as I
intend on being there Friday and Saturday.
If you plan on using a gas grill/hotplate/etc, you may want to take a
rake to clear the area. Not necessary, I know, but the Forest Service
would probably appreciate it.
