My suggestion may be more than you want to spend. I recently purchased the
Orion 8X42 Savannah binoculars and I am very pleased with the light weight,
sharp, contrasty field of view and long eye relief. I would highly recommend
them, I saw 82 Messier objects with them at the Messier Marathon in April. The
bad news: they are 300 dollars.
