Then he pointed to Sirius, and said
it was Venus.
They ran a graphic that showed the comet passing near Venus in coming days,
which it
misses by 40 degrees. I guess they tried, at least.

I saw the late edition of 12 News weather portion also. "Wow, that image
looks mighty familiar!" I thought. It looked REALLY good on the TV screen!
Then, as Sean made the blunder, "...that's Venus" I yelled to the TV as if
he could hear me, "That's Sirius, you %#@*&!".
You'd think a weather guy would know better, or at least do some
homework...oh well, that's "show business".
