[AZ-Observing] Rezoning meeting on May 22

Greetings,
I received a call this afternoon from the owners of Brady-Vekol Ranch. This is
a 55,000 acre ranch just north of I-8 near the Vekol Road dark sky site. The
call was to enlist our support in attempts to prevent a rezoning of nearby land
for development as a gas station and shopping center. The area ranchers are
opposed to any such development and would like some assistance.
I have placed a call to the Maricopa County Planning & Zoning Commission to
discover what details are available, and am waiting for a return call. I could
not find any details on this case at the MCP&ZC website at
http://www.maricopa.gov/planning/
The proposed rezoning meeting is scheduled for May 22.
The parcel of land in question is listed as follows:
Case # Z2002098
Section 3, T-7 South, R-1 East
39.45 acres
At this point in time I'm just sharing what I know. If anyone has any
experience in these matters, we could sure use your expertise.
