[AZ-Observing] Re: They come in threes

I'll add to it with my theory....

The elk and other critters spend a lot of time in the tree line and the dung
which literally coats the ground where we camp and hide from the sun is the
main reason of the high bug count. Last time there I spent as little time
in the tree area and did not get bit much at all.

Best bet for minimizing all the distractons from pesky insects is light long
trousers and light long sleeve shirts. Then make sure you have a supply of
insect repellent that has Deet as an ingredient. That seems to be the best
for chasing them away.

With all the wet weather we have been having it should be a terrific
year for chiggers, noseeums, mosquitoes, and other biting and sucking
creatures up at 5 Mile Meadow.
