Hi Steve,
My wife and I have always wondered where Pierre's binocular chair went! We
always used to visit him on my trips to Phoenix to visit my daughter when I
lived in California. It was a tragedy to visit him in his final days in the
hospital. Anyway, my wife coveted that chair and I have always thought I would
build a similar one myself one of these years. Of course, Pierre was
deceptively creative and I don't have those talents at all. I still remember
his drillmotor driven 16-inch telescope with attached observing chair. What a
marvel that was! You never know, we may make it up that way, just to see the
chair, okay, maybe a few stars and SAC members, too!
Clear skies,

Won't you join us on Saturday April 26th at ~4:00 PM for our annual Star
Party/Potluck? This year, we can check out all the "new" equipment we've
received, as well as see the progress on the Pierre Schwaar Binocular Chair
redesign, (if not give it a spin around the sky).
Joe Orman will give another of his patented slide shows around dusk, and
promises more wonderful images.
Bring your telescope or binoculars, a chair and some warm clothing, as it
sometimes get chilly out in the sticks. Bring something to throw on the grill
and something to pass around, food-wise. We'll have some soda, but if there's
something specific you prefer, bring that too.
If you're new to astronomy and would like some help with your new scope, or
have any questions, feel free to stop by a little early for a tour. Well
behaved children are welcome, and we can show them a scale model of our solar
system.
Please RSVP to the email address below, not the list. Maps and directions
are blind linked on my site, along with my phone numbers. We'll be here unless
it rains, so clouds are no problem.
Do let us know you'll attend!
