[AZ-Observing] Re: scope adaptation

I went a couple of years after they did that, and found out when I got
back home, that I had missed a couple of really good displays/scopes
that were hidden off in the far reaches of the woods - I've never gone
back because the whole idea was to see what other ATMs were doing & chat
with them, and I obviously wasn't very successful at it. Why do the
drive and spend the money to come away missing some of the good stuff.
I could never really figure out why they did that. I could always go
pick up a copy of S&T and see what the commercial folks were up to - big
deal!... but as my grandpappy told me "If at first you don't understand
something, if the logic isn't at all obvious, just follow the money".

Along the same line of thought, I'd be willing to really support a good
ATM conference in the western U.S. that centered around the actual ATM's
and their scopes/ideas. I really miss what RTMC used to be - pre 1988
or so. It's sad it turned out to be what it became - IMHO, of course.

/Bob
