I took a peek while I was looking at the Meade web page today for any
signs of their "merger" plans (probably now defunct for the present).
However, they MIGHT buy Synta!! ;>))
Anyways, evidently the new Meade camera has a USB interface. Would be
interested in knowing if it could do 30 fps video... Recording 30fps
video is problemmatic, at best. That is typically limited by the bus
speed on the PC, and/or transfer rate and buffering capacity to the hard
drive. In otherwords, you can expect to intermittantly drop frames, so
direct digital video is NOT really useful presently for occultation
timing purposes.
