A new nova has been found in Sagittarius by Hideo Nishimura and
later by Bill Liller. Position is: 18 19 32 -28 36.6 (J2000),
and it has been reported at magnitude 8.5 or so as recently as
March 17.8 UT.
Perhaps a nice add-on target for Messier Marathoning this week?

\Brian
