Thanks, Jeff.  From the "A" chart on the AAVSO site, it looks like the nova 
will be easy to identify about midway between Zeta Ser and Mu Oph.

Zeta Ser is magnitude 4.6, and is not coincidentally labeled on that chart with 
a "46".  Almost equally distant from the nova to the lower right is Mu Oph, 
which is also magnitude 4.6.

If the nova is hanging around the mid 4's, the three stars should form an 
asterism that will appear in binoculars like a faint version of Orion's belt.
