Alta Vista Apartments clubhouse, Mesa.
Guest Speakers:
Dr. Rich Jacobs - Amateur Astronomer since 1967 will speak and present his
outstanding work on CCD imaging. Dr. Jacobs is Chief Medical Officer at Health
Net of Arizona and as he says is "a celestial tourist who likes to keep a
visual record of my visits". He has been published in both Astronomy and Sky

inside images in the 2003 Official Vatican Observatory Calendar.
Dr. Matthew Fouch - Assistant Professor, ASU Department of Geological Sciences.
He will be speaking on "Views of the Deep Earth: A Southern Africa
Perspective". The primary goal of his research is to understand Earth's
internal structure and processes. Specifically using seismology and geophysics
to examine the interior of the earth from crust to core by use of techniques
that combine both data analysis and numerical methods. A primary tool for these
investigations is the broadband seismometer array.
