Yes, this is clearly important for CAD work. I have not seen anything
in RiscCAD to this effect though. ProCAD has a Parallel tool but it is
limited in what it can do - it produces self-intersecting paths for
concave segments. So, Nick would not have much joy trying this on text
outlines, which are almost always concave.
