If I understand, you want Coollist to have both on-topic and off-topic
posts, but Freelists1 to have just on-topic posts.
Wouldn't this require each on-topic post to be sent to both lists? I think
my proposed split between on and off-topic is simpler and more flexible:-
- Interested in just on-topic then read Freelists only.
- Interested in just off-topic then read Coollist only.
- Interested in both then read both.
- Post to just one list (you would need to select the appropriate list)
And of course the on-topic Arachne posts would provide a technical archive
at Freelists; the larger volume (I assume) of this type of post would be
available in digest form; and we would have a backup server should one fail.
