Dear Glenn,
Have followed your instructions because my case is similar to the case of
Bastiaan after you found out that he also is behind a router.
The case seemed easy but in reality I ran into problems.
The IP address of my router is 192.168.2.1 so I changed that.
A gateway is given in my router setup so I used that. After that did not work
I tried the IP address of the router.
But my router is not reacting on the efforts of Arachne. Worse, The
modem/router also did not give me the IP assigned to this machine by the
router. This address shows immediately after I use bootp.
With bootp the Security log shows me that the Arachne machine has been given
an offer. After three times there seems to be no follow up and there is no
connection made with the net.
:58:19 sending OFFER to 192.168.2.100
I am totally confused and do not seem to get the right input in its place.
Perhaps you could help me with the decifering of the data of the setup
program.
The first input says:
INTERNET ADSL: CONNECTED
WAN IP: 222.124.78.34
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 203.130.222.255
Primary DNS: 202.134.2.5
Secondary DNS: 202.134.0.155
The second informs me as follows.
GATEWAY
IP Address: 192.168.2.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
DHCP Server: Enabled
Firewall: Enabled
UPnP: Enabled
I know for sure that the IP address of the router/modem is 192.168.2.1, I
start becoming unsure about the gateway and to be honest, I have tried out
all thinkable combinations without any result.
If you need ore info, just say so ;(.
