One option I can think of is gub for dos. I use in linux so haven't
tried the dos version but I expect it should work fine. Also, you can
use the xp boot loader. I forget the details but I did this a couple
years ago and it was just a matter of adding stuff to a file. I 'think'
this is what I did:

As for partition magic, I don't think there really is a need for it
anymore. The gparted live cd works great(for ntfs, too). And it's
FREE! I've used it shrink, enlarge, copy, etc. all sorts of partition
types. There is also a live usb version. The new version is really nice.

I would like to have your experience to realise a multi boots with
windows XP
If the disk has been formated in fat 32, I think you can create a
directory where you can copy the dos files(command.com, attrib....)
You copy the config.sys and the autoexec.bat in the root.
And you can modify also msdos.sys (attrib -s -r -h)
But if the disk has been formated in NTFS (Only for windows) what can we
do.
What do you think of magic partition?
Regard.

I am Chartered Accountant, legal auditor, teatcher of university and I
work only with Dos soft
DOS is also MY main OS.
And I operate a one-man consultancy on Australian Chemical Regulation Compliance
(safety and handling, storage, transport, material safety data sheets, labelling
specifications, etc..) for small to medium sized businesses.
All in DOS !
I write software, which runs in DOS v3.3 all the way up to WinXP: also in DOS.
I have seen the difficulties and disasters my wife has had with Windows from 95
to XP - and want none of it. For my business, DOS works. For my other
computer uses, I use DOS and I also have Linux.
I still use Arachne for email and internet from time to time, but I mainly do
that in Linux, now.
For me, DOS is not going to be dead for a long time.

Ron
