Can it be done?
I am going to try to do it.
The HP 200LX is a handheld computer. It has an embedded
MS-DOS 5.00 operating system, 2MB memory, a CGA display,
a type II PCMCIA port for memory cards and other devices,
and also a serial port and an IR port.
I very recently acquired one by ebay purchase. It is like
new, in the box, with manuals and all. Hardly ever used.
The manuals appear never have to been opened and read.
Works great! I also acquired by ebay purchase a connectivity
kit, new, never-used, and still in the original shrink-wrap.
So far I have used the connectivity kit and its included
software for connecting successfully to a desktop PC and
doing file transfers. I have not yet tried to use my HP
200LX with a modem. I don't suppose I will encounter any
problems in doing that.
I have ordered a 20MB PCMCIA memory card for my HP 200LX.
Should receive it in a few days.
I will need to download an Arachne version that will work
with a CGA display. Any suggestions on which version
of Arachne to download and where I can get it?
