I am running dosemu, version 1.4.0.0, released 2007-05-05 in Ubuntu
Feisty Fawn, which I believe to be the latest stable release of 
Ubuntu.

To setup dosemu in Ubuntu you just download it and run the package
manager utility to install it.  

I haven't played around very much yet with dosemu.  So I do not yet 
have an opinion about whether Arachne might run under dosemu.

Even if one might be able to install Arachne for running under 
dosemu there might be a problem with in doing the internet with it.

Can a DOS packet driver be emulated under linux?    

Oh, and about the vga and video stuff, the attached screenshot might be
helpful.
