that sounds like you have already answered your own question - obviously
the web site is for WinXP and MacOS users, so using Linux to access it
is invalid.

There are probably thousands of companies that try to force one to use a
different operating system, and they have been doing this for at least
the last ten years, so by now you should have got used to it. If you
were using DOS instead of Linux, you surely would.

If you find it annoying that this particular web site checks your web
browser and thereby your OS, either change the User Agent string to
something that matches WinXP or access the web site through a web proxy
that does this for you automagically.
