Have you ever heard of "a can of worms" ??  or maybe "Pandora's Box" ??

That is what you are inching too close to when you start talking
ARACHNE.PCK ...

Until there is a roadmap for Arachne overall, and a few reliable GPS
points in the code, it would be VERY unwise to open the PCK up to
modification.

It's even worse than the History file!!

Raise your hand, peoples, if you know that the history file is such an
unreliable ENDUSER tool because it was thrown in to help DEVELOPERS
debug and trace, not as a feature!!  

If you'd been around long enough, you would have received that tidbit of
information should you complain that History doesn't really show where
you last were, particularly if you're linking/moving around from InSight
and mail reading etc etc etc ...

Right now the 'hot rod' called Arachne is still in the process of
building the frame and trying different combinations of suspension to
make it safe on the road ... some work has been done in engine & drive
train, a bit on the rearend ... but we're nowhere close enough to
finished to be sidetracked on injectors vs. needle valves, lacquer vs.
powder for the finish... and further still from flames vs. pinstripes!
