But it must have been another file in the built-in freedos directory (SuSE 
7.3). Now using the freedos/Arachne flop Freedos.org recommends (shame to 
have to start windows in order to use the fd16ara.exe selfextractor, but 
this flop boots and runs fine.)

"Experimental" setup though: In fact I mounted the flop on /mnt and added
a symlink to /mnt in ~/dosemu/drives

85K free memory with arachne and in dosemu too, all seems fine.
