Hi Ray,
I originally had problems subscribing to freelists using an email
address @lineone.net This was possibly because the Lineone ISP
had been absorbed by Tiscali and the mail went
via a Tiscali.co.uk server. Symptoms were:

Had to use a different email address. A free one from
http://www.HotPOP.com worked OK.
Can't remember if signup is Arachne friendly. You could also try
http://www.SoftHome.net which is A friendly.
