Absolutely!  But it doesn't hurt to talk about editor considerations
either.  You make a very good point when you mention that right now
we have something of the 'to each his own' philosophy at work; thus,
I'd say that any changes to the IE would have to have very strong
backing to make the change worth while at all.  Nothing is going to
happen on that front for some time, I'm quite sure.
