Not the most bloated but rather the latest, which probably are the most
bloated. But then, why would I want to compare the latest versions of
DOS with old versions of Linux? ;-)

I am always amazed to see how much Linux one needs to get roughly the
same amount of functionality as in an average DOS system.

Of course the comparison is not quite fair since DOS can draw upon the
BIOS to do all sort of things, but even if Linux would use it I doubt
that it would make a difference.

I wonder if I will ever see a version of DOS that deserves the term
"bloated". Perhaps one day if it will have to emulate all kinds of x86
hardware and the BIOS on top of EFI to run ordinary DOS programs, it
might reach that point, but I doubt that I would still like it that
much then.
