Arachne at FreeLists---The Arachne Fan Club!
Hi Eric,
Nope, they all used Windows computers at Lawrence Tech in
Southfield. The school provided all students with computers.
The seniors got new ones and then they were passed down through
the ranks for four years and then replaced. The whole campus is
a Wi-Fi network--but everything was Windows, unless the student
had money to buy their own computers. And then, according to my
son, they bought Macs. He did say "that all the engineers hated
Windows".
So why does the school provide Windows computers? I don't know.
Linux did not seem to be a factor, which doesn't make sense to me.
Lawrence trains lots of "nuts and bolts" engineers for the auto
industry and they work predominately in Windows. Maybe that's
why. It sucks but they are not going to change. It's stupid.
