It took some experimenting, but I can now see my USB card reader in MS-DOS
6.20. :)
Of course, the card is an un-recognised format for DOS - I have been using
it for transfering large graphics from my Linux machine to my wife's Win-XP
machine.
However, Arachne (bless her !) is able to "see" the stuff I put on the
card, display graphics from there, copy to somewhere else on my DOS drives, and
also to "save" files to the card. So, Arachne is the tool for my USB card
reader where CLI DOS failed.
