Well, I would suggest that files like sign.txt, e-dress.txt,
arachne.cfg, etc. should not be overwritten by the installer at all but
rather only created if they do not already exist. If changes to these
files are needed, the existing files should be merged with the new
options rather than replaced by the default ones. Perhaps a mechanism
similar to the GNU diff/patch utils could be used for this purpose. If
it is not sufficient to simply append a few lines, that is.
