Hi Glenn,

the archive was not damaged, nor was there not enough free disk space.
My main Arachne dir where I first installed v1.90 had about 12 MB free,
whereas the drive I did the test on yesterday even had more than 1 GB of
free disk space. Whatever keeps the installer from installing the files
in the system dir, it is neither related to one nor the other.

I verified that the installer indeed writes all files if the Arachne dir
does not exist, but it fails to do so if it is to update my existing
installation.

So far, I have ruled out problems with the archive itself, with the
drive I installed to and with the operating environment.

Well, you have the source code - is there anything else that would make
the installer skip those files?
