Arachne at FreeLists---The Arachne Fan Club!
A friend of mine told me she was going to retire when she became
62 years old--but when she reached that age, she decided to keep
on working in order to accumulate more savings for retirement. Her
slightly older husband had already retired from General Motors
with a handsome pension and together with her social security
they could have lived quite nicely. But they wanted "to be sure"
and to "feel really secure". Three years went by and just as she
was about to finally retire her husband dropped dead of a heart
attack. The large and expensive travel trailer purchased with
her years of extra work was never used. My friend never got to
travel with her husband.
This sort of thing happens all the time. My advice? Go now! Life
is uncertain. You can't take it with you.
