Arachne at FreeLists---The Arachne Fan Club!
I caught just a snip of a snag of an implication that I've missed out on
a cat fight of spectacular proportions.
that's not nice! I thought *I* had been granted exclusivity of throwing
hissy fits!
Before all you forkin' idiots blow each other out of the water, I
suggest that you look to Linux. Ubutu and Red Hat are not bed-partners,
but for certain they also don't waste any time/effort trying to cut the
other off at the knees. And you can bet they learn from each other,
both successes and failures.
As I found out some time ago, not even "DOS" is simply "DOS" and what
went find with one form of DOS just never would work right for me with
my level of MS-DOS. But I didn't call names. And the reason I quit was
a matter of continuing requirements for the majority of my time to be
spent on basic survival.
Yes, the one-computer thing for kids may make some feel that all efforts
on DOS are wasted. I don't agree. Those kid computers, and even wi-fi
stuff do NOT replace the essential and critical need for a viable DOS
browser(s) that will run on throw-aways and provide far more options
than just accessing the internet. Remember this: No one is writing
illustrated instructions books on farming, medicine, veterinary science,
sewing, child care, for that little green computer ... nor ones which
can be afforded by the poor and run on 'junk computers' ... but at least
one person I'm aware of is probably still hard at work, and I hope in
future to be able to kick into gear and do similar.
... now lick your wounds, make like nice, take time to recover from
holidays if necessary, and then get back to your "useless, senseless"
task of Arachne.
hugs & kisses
gramma l.d.
