Arachne at FreeLists---The Arachne Fan Club!

I have read all the posts regarding Arachne development that have
occurred since I wrote my little piece regarding moving on towards
cooperation. Pardon me for not quoting them, but I don't have the
necessary 3 weeks to include them all.

Thankfully, amidst all the retoric, I think I do see a bit of concensus
slowly emerging and I am grateful for that.

Glenn Mccorkle's comments are 100% on the mark, and I hope all opponents
will consider them and act upon them.

I would ask the Ray proponents and the NON RAY proponents to agree to a
serious discussion, either in a seperate set of email messages, or a
telephone conference call and to use that event to work out who is going
to do what, when, to clean up the code, make sure all old code is saved,
and to agree upon who is going to do what to put cleaner code into the
Arachne code and who is going to move on to cleanly code java script and
SSL.

I suggest Ray and ONE of the non-ray group work out who is going to do
what in a quick, clean, systematic, and civilized way. Once that is
worked out, then each person or group can get going on the task of
finishing Arachne (useing A191j1 as the base central code to be cleaned
up, modified, or expanded as required.

Please people on both sides, have a civilized, off line discussion and
work out the details of aportioning tasks in accordance with the ability
and willingness of each. And then go to work off line and get it done
with no more public on line criticism until you have jointly and
severally made some significant progress.
