Other than the canned ham/meat product on the market in the USA,
most people on the internet, when asked "What is spam?" will usually
answer "unwanted, unsolicited email". Anyway...
If robot trojan programs that automatically subscribed to email lists were
a big problem, I think that as the owner/administrator/moderator of this
list as well as one on the Yahoo Groups, I would have encountered some
of these "automated junk message subscriber bots". In over 6 years of
experience with moderating groups, I've not yet encountered this alleged
phenomenon. Take some advice, go to subscriber post only, and make
subscribers authenticate themselves rather than the typical "open forum"
that many web based lists use...an open invitation.
