Hi Michael, welcome with Arachne.

A lack of memory is not uncommon when first using Arachne.
If you press "M" for memory right after the Arachne start up then you
will see something about the memory.
The first item in the box should have a green color if all went well...
Black or red means trouble during dialing in to the internet.
During dialing Arachne uses some more memory and if not enough she
closes down with "not enough memory" type "arachne -u".

The solution is to load high your DOS, mouse driver and other programs.
And... shut all programs not necesary for Arachne like Norton Commander
and stuff like that.
A lack of 22k is not that much to gain.
