Yes indeed, you can telnet and access Yahoo Mail!
I do it all the time...however, the "host Lynx" must
either have HTTPS enabled for this to work. As an
alternate, I have uploaded my own "Yahoo Mail Login"
page JUST FOR LYNX USERS!!! It also works with IE
and Opera though. It has all the JavaScript and
SSL (HTTPS) removed.

For telnet purposes, I use my own telnet client,
and open a connection to Sailor via:
telnet guest.sailor.lib.md.us
Login with user name "guest"
then press ENTER key 4 times, and voila!
Then press O (letter oh) to set your options,
then activate the save options link...
then, press G (letter gee), to "go" and type
in the URL of the desired web page...
