I'll jump in here since I'm both a new Amaya owner and a small home
business (as big as I can be with a 2-year-old demanding time).
I own Design Shop Pro Plus and am very glad I purchased it. There are so
many things that the high-end program can do that the others cannot. It
helps to have an art and CAD background, but I'm finding it very intuitive
to use. I also got what I would consider high praise from a Melco trainer
on the things I've digitized BEFORE taking the digitizing training, and
feel very comfortable with the software and what I can do with it AFTER the
training.
I think this has been said before, but as long as the small lettering is
digitized properly I've had no problems with stitchout. ALL of my issues
have been with my own personal errors, not with machine performance or
software performance. I tend to be too hasty and fail to double check
myself (fatal to a shirt in many cases).
I can't say enough positive things about Amaya's - I absolutely love this
machine and can't imagine using any other. (Okay, one exception - I've
found that I'd like to have a four head so I could stitch designs on bolts
of fabric, but that's another issue).
