Just encase anyone else was interested. I have found a way of getting access 
to protected .lit ebooks. The books I was having particular difficulties 
with were in DRM5.
The programs called clit. There are 2 versions both free, one uses a command 
prompt and is the original program, the other was designed by someone else 
and is a GUI version for those of us that can't remember good old Dos.
The program converts the .lit into html with headings for chapters and 
sections.
The only major problem is that if you want to access DRM protected books you 
will need someone sighted on hand. this is because when you convert your 
first book the Microsoft ebook reader needs to be loaded and you have to 
open a book within it so that clit can generate a code. But once youve done 
that you don't have to do it again and the process is then fully accessible 
as the ebook reader never has to load again.
I don't consider what I've done to be illegal as I'm only making accessible 
versions of books that I've bought. Hope the moderaters will agree. I've 
bought 3 star trek books and had great fun in reading them.
