As a matter of interest, Sandra, have you had any viruses on your
computer that Macafee didn't find and you discovered later through any
means?

Steve, if you leave the options set to their defaults, Mcafee will 
automatically check e-mails and attachments.  If, however, you want to 
change anything, go into the options menu of the Mcafee virus scan from
the 
system tray ikon and change them from there.  If a virus is detected
during 
a routine scan, it is automatically cleaned, which I presume means
deleted, 
and you'll be told at the end of the scan in the scan summary.  This is
my 
third year of using Mcafee and I have had no problems at all with it.
