I've just discovered that although they are listed as options, SAPI4 voices
don't work with Thunder, only SAPI5.  I've uninstalled Thunder and they are
working again with my old screenreader - so I'm ok.  I hope someone is able
to help you out Peter, as unless you are trying to use a different
screenreading program than usual which doesn't actually support SAPI4 (as it
turns out I was!) I don't have any suggestions.
