Donna, afraid the Rode NT3 maybe more than you want to pay; they usually
retail around £90.
However, I've recalled a supplier of relatively cheap mics in the UK who
specializes in supplying mics and other equipment for portable recorder use.
He has a lot of more economical mics from Eagle and others , although they
tend to be lapel and tie clip mics. Take a look at:
http://www.inquitaudio.co.uk/html/wired_mics.html
If its desktop mics you are after then Maplin is the other obvious source,
and, as I'm going into the town centre a bit later on I could email you
of-list if I see something there that looks as if it will fulfill your
needs. If you don't mind finding your way around complex sites then you
could have a look around their web site.
