Then we could campaign to get equal facilities for education, university
students, nursing homes, council tax and more. From what I know of Scottish
government, and, to some extent, Welsh, devolution has been good for these
countries. Sadly, I can't foresee the English government following suit...
with anything good. Perhaps regional devolution might work?
There may be a case for the DSS paying for equipment under the new access laws,
but someone would have to prove that it is an essential part of their lives,
and not just a luxury. At a guess, like me, I would say that all of you would
see the computer as an essential piece of equipment. The catch 22 is that we
all already have the equipment.

Do you think there might be a political slant to how it seems to easier to
get access technology in Scotland? I'm refering to the Scottish Parliament
and coalition government there. it has a bearing, I'm thinking on the fact
it seems somewhat easier to get access technology, in Scotland, through
social services. this would have a bearing on us in the rest of UK as,
knowing what Scotland has and how it's benefiting them, we'd want, and
campaign for the same benefits here, i.e. easier access to access
technology.
Just a thought, hope i'm not off topic here or getting the wrong end of the
stick <smile>.
