Hi Andy
The most useful advice I can give you is to download a firewall and update it
before you go on broadband. When I connected my broadband modem to the net
there were five attempts to scan my computer within the first second. The
tiscali web site I downloaded my update for the modem even tried sending me a
virus. Luckily, I had a firewall installed. Within five minutes, the firewall
stopped twenty attacks.

I can't actually help you with anything else as I got someone with site and
knowledge of pc's to install it all.

  Hi all.

I have just applied to move from Freeserve Anytime to broadband. Today, I
received my free modem which I believe has to be plugged into one of my
computers usb connections. The service is supposed to commence in about 7
days. Can anyone who has recently moved onto broadband please give me some
  advice concerning setting this up.

  Best wishes.
  Andy from sunny Kilcreggan
