Hello Andrew,

Unfortunately, its the British standards authority that are not granting
licenses for overseas blood monitors to be distributed in this country.

The Gluciplus monitor, which is sold by Vis-ability, is imported from
overseas. Yes, it can be purchased by individuals, and as you quite rightly
point out, the strips that are used for this machine, are not available on
the National Health.

If you read my article, which I am willing to forward to you by Email.
Points out, that sighted diabetics get both their blood monitors and strips,
provided free on the National Health. So why should us blind diabetics have
to pay for keeping our diabetes under control.

This is why I am running this campaign, and as a matter of interest, I am
not the only person who has an interest in this subject. Both the RNIB and
NFB are also showing an interest, and indirectly, are giving me some
support.

Adrian Rowe.
