Only for those who have a broadband connection. They are only offering
streaming audio. If you request a c.d. then there is no difference from the
current talking book service. Also I like to listen to books in bed, and I
refuse to allow a computer in the bedroom

well ultimately if this service takes off, they will be able to cut down on
costs by getting rid of personnel at the Peterborough call centre as wel as
being able to lay off peple who check the books in and out, and who stuff the
pouches with new books and put them in the post.

Harsh bit of economics but hopefully this would mean they have more money to
make more books with.

    Hi

Just seen the message about the above. I am wondering where this leaves
the "talking book service", since from the sound of things you could basically
get the same or better functionality by taking out a si

Jamesngle subscription to the Bookstream Book club.
