You can stop a disc running by holding down shift for ten seconds or so just after you have put the disc in. This is not turning the auto-run feature off, it just stops that disc autorun. To turn off auto-run is a little complicated for me to explain, but I'll try.

1. Go to desktop with windows key + d.
2. You should land on *my computer*. Press the space bar to select. If you don't land on my computer, press m until you do.
2. Press enter on *my computer* then arrow down to your CD Rom drive.
3. Hold down alt and press enter to bring up the properties of the CD Rom drive.
4. Shift tab once to the *General* tab, then right arrow once to *Auto-play* tab.
5. This is where I get a bit vague. I think you need to press tab twice then arrow down to select the action you want. I have my computer set to *Prompt me each time to select an action*.
6. Tab once to *ok and you're done*
7. Press alt and f4 to close *my computer*.

Hi

You know if you insert a disc in to a drive on the computer, a window comes up automatically, if you're using a digicam it tends to bring up Nero, its so you can install progs without having to manually start things off etc.

I think you can turn it off, how? I'm rather in urgent need to know.
