Hi all,

I apologise for replying to my own messages a lot in this thread, however, I feel that sometimes it is necessary when others do not reply and I feel that there are other things I wish to say which more or less follow on from what I have said previously.

In this case I have replied to my own message as I would like to say that as a result of Doris's message which I subsequently replied to, I have uninstalled the trial version of finereader version 8.0 but have not as yet been able to find mainstream stockists of finereader version 7 in Birmingham even though I have telephoned PC World, and staples branches.

PC world said that my local store only had versions 4 and 5 and these were on a list of deleted stock and Staples said they did not stock finereader at all.

Can anyone suggest anywhere else I might try in the mainstream computer market or should I look at purchasing version 7 from a specialist company who supply screen reading software? that is if I can purchase version 7 at all.

One of the reasons I would like to take up Doris's suggestion is that I have found that I need to be able to change the resolution of my canon 1250u2 scanner not only in terms of cpi, whatever that is, but also in terms of brightness, and I can not find any way to change the brightness within version 8 as the menu option for changing the resolution is not available in version 8,i.e, it gives the option in the tools menu but it is greyed out.

Any suggestions of how I should proceed would be helpful.
