Cheers I managed to open it about ten minutes after complaining that my
nails were too short!

Sunil - instead of trying to open the cover from the end, there is a
slot 
half way along and towards the back of the phone, that you should be
able to 
get your nail or the tip of a flat-headed screw driver in to to leaver
it 
open.
