Unfortunately, it only shows my internal drive and there is only one. I
think it is not formatted that is why it is not showing.

Thank you.

Hi,
C
An you go to: Control panel | administrative tasks | computer management,
then use down arrow until you get to Disk management? If you tab then
arrow, you may see your new drive is assigned the same drive letter as
another drive on the system, and thus it is being "hidden" from other
programs.

Do a context on the drive and change its letter.

Andrew.

Subject: [access-uk] New hard drive is not showing

Hi,
I have just bought a 300gb Maxtor 6 l300 USB 2 external hard drive. I am
using xp home addition. When it is connected, the computer finds the
hardware fine. But it does not show it under my computer. I have checked
the system/hardware and it shows that it is functioning properly. Does
anyone know how to get it shown in my computer?

Thank you.
