are there any good sites that describe the long cane technique?  Of course 
we all want long cane training but if it really cannot be got, you may have 
to just get out there and do it yourself with a bit of instruction from a 
website, manual or something.

As I say, not ideal, but it could be a better option than turning down work.

hi list with regards to guidedogs and long cane
training I can only say from my point of view how
sad I am to see the association going down the
wrong route as regards training blind persons.
as a totally blind piano tuner I feel the
policies of gdba are ruining the work of the association.
I have been waiting for a new dog now since last
September and my partner has been waiting since a year last April.
I could go on about this for ages but will not but hope things improve.
I cannot see me training at a hotel as I
understand the cost is £120 per night  so we must
wait and wait and turn tunings down and wait.
