[access-uk] Re: RECORDING MUSIC ONTO THE PC

Someone on the PC audio list recently was talking about a piece of
software called Adobe Audition which he seemed to be using, seemed to be
accessible.

Has anyone else used this for multi tracking successfully?

If you don't intend to multi-track, ie. record all in one like they used
to then Goldwave would be worth getting hold of which is accessible.
Your main problem will be getting low level guitar input into your PC.
For that you are going to need either a microphone of some kind if
acoustic, or a mixer/amp/guitar stomp box of some kind the electric can
go into and then pass output to your PC with apropriate couplings to the
PC soundcard.

For multi-track it's a bit more difficult but might be worth looking at
n-track, George's pointer to the specialist lists will prove useful in
finding out if this can be used with a screen reader successfully.

Hi George, Yes the software will needs to be accessible, secondly he
would like to make the recordings of a good quality in order to share
with friends etc. and the third point as usual, he does not wish to
spend too much on this project.

Thank you for your assistance.

Regards, Saeed

  Hi Saeed,

I guess the first question to ask is, "Does your friend need
accessible software, and to what degree of accessibility?".

Next would be to ask if it is for pure fun, or does he want to pass on
his recordings to the likes of a recording studio?

And finally, what sort of budget can he afford?

  George.

Hi Everyone, forgive me if this subject is off topic.

I have a friend who plays the guitar and wants me to help him to
record some music onto the computer.

I would be grateful for any tips in terms of which software to use
and also what type of microphone is best suited for recording music onto
the PC.

I use a laptop with an external Creative Soundblaster live Soundcard.

I would be grateful if anyone has used the PC for this purpose and can
benefit me from their experience.

  Best regards, Saeed
