Hi maggie, Unfortunately there isn't much choice for getting audio
description on TV.
The Netgem IPlayer will allow you to get the audio description feed but
netgem are going to stop making it so you will need to get one soon. I have
had one for about a year and although it can be rather temprimental and you
have to be online to get information like upcoming programs etc I am quite
happy with it.
Don't know much about the Portset machine a part from the fact that its very
expensive and doesn't support the recording of pictures.
If you wanted to go down the computer route for TV programs you could buy a
Nebula PCI card or USB stick. That option would certainly be the cheapest,
followed by the Netgem and finally by Portset.
As far as I know these are the only three options that support
audiodescription if you don't include Sky or cable.
HTH
