  Hi Tony
I have solved the problem through going to Microsoft SP2 section, telephone
08706010100 and press option 4.
The reason for my problem was because I had installed SP2 from the disk, it
had not been registered with Microsoft.
I suggest you go through the same procedure.
  Good Luck,
  Regards
  Geoff

    Hi Geoff

I've had the same problem since installing SP2.

I got a friend in a few months ago and he had some success in downloading
some updates, and I thought it was sorted, only to find that when I triad again
I was still unable to get anything downloaded at all. Will try some of Robin's
solutions and see what happens.

I have heard of several people who have similar problems relating to SP2,
but have not come across anyone who has found a satisfactory solution as yet.

All help appreciated on this one.

    Tony.

      Hi Robin
      Many thanks for your reply.
The automatic update button is checked although I sometimes go to the
site and click on Install, on the updates, but since I have installed SP2 from
the disc, I get a message saying Update download unsuccessful.
      Regards
      Geoff

        Hi Geoff,

How do you know they have failed to download? Can you elaborate a bit
more?

In control panel, under automatic updates, I take it you know about the
four options? Download automatically, download, but let me choose when to
install, download and install, and tell me, and finally, turn off automatic
updates.

Have you got this page set up right, and not perhaps the auto download
turned off?

        Cheers, Robin

          Hi
Could anyone help me with Windows Update.
I am using XP and have installed SP2 from the disk but since then

Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
          Regards
          Geoff
